Throughout Western Australia's 150 years of settlement, many fine buildings and humble structures have been erected, each typical of the period in which it was constructed. Many of these buildings are still standing, and the National Trust has acquired many splendid examples, spread throughout the state, to preserve for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
Many historic buildings are described in Alexandra Hasluck's detailed and informative text and are illustrated by Ross Shardlow's charmingly evocative drawings, including the Old Farm at Strawberry Hill, St Bartholomew's Church, Wonnerup House, Sealer's Oven, Warden Finnerty's House and many buildings in Greenough.
This book is a valuable portrayal of the heritage left to us by the pioneers in Western Australia.
