For over a century, Lady Lawley Cottage by the Sea has played a prominent role in health, rehabilitation and respite services for Western Australian children. These children were placed in the Cottage either by their families or by welfare authorities. The Cottage was run by an independent management committee until 1945 when the Australian Red Cross Society took over management. After a period of offering non-residential services, the Cottage was closed in 2020.

Disability service provider Rocky Bay officially took over the historic Lady Lawley Cottage in Cottesloe in December 2022 after securing a 20-year lease from the Australian Red Cross.

The Cottage began its life as a convalescence home in 1903, and while the service it provides has evolved, its reputation for commitment to its clients has never faltered. (back cover)
