Rocky Bay: A Short History 1938-2000 gives an account of the history of the Western Australian Society for Crippled Children, the Lucy Creeth Centre, and Rocky Bay Inc. It includes client interviews and photographs of clients, staff, volunteers, buildings and activities.
Over the years, the society has progressed a long way from the cramped, borrowed office space to its modern headquarters in Mosman Park. The focus has changed from 'doing something for crippled kids' to supporting people with disabilities of all ages. Expertise in muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and acquired brain injury, amongst others, has brought Rocky Bay to the forefront of disability care in Western Australia.
Includes reflection and recollections from clients and chapters on Lucy's hospital, the schools by the sea, rivals and allies, occupational wizards, volunteers aboard, sharing the caring and moving out.
