The Ministering Children's League Convalescent Home was established in 1897 at Cottesloe Beach for adults. It was located on the corner of Warton Street and Swanbourne Terrace (now Marine Parade). A few children were admitted as paying inpatients during the early years of the Home, but after that were only admitted to the Convalescent Home during 1943, when 50 children from rural WA came to stay as part of a Country Women's Association holiday program.
