Sir Richard (Dick) Boyer (1923-1989) was a man of many careers - Methodist minister stationed in Canberra, pioneer sheep-run, humanist and internationalist and finally chairman of the Australian Broadcasting Commission from 1945 to 1961.
This biography shows how Boyer's liberalism survived under government and public pressure. Though primarily a portrait of a man, this book is also an account of the ABC. (book flap)
