The Hampton Hotel was the first public house to open on the Greenough Flats and with good times and popular landlords it was the best hotel. But times and people changed, and the Hotel fell into decline.

This diary contains for each day of the year, an event that has occurred at the Hampton on that day in the past. The majority of events described belong to the earlier period of Hampton's history. (Introduction)
