The biography of Martin Rellim, the author's father. Told in a narrative style.

Martin Rellim was born in Sydney in the aftermath of WWI. He left school in 1924, working menial jobs to provide for his mother and himself.

With the rise of fascism and Japanese militarism, Martin undertook studies in mechanical and aeronautical engineering. Martin's expertise was to play a vital role in enabling the Australian air force to triumph in the battle for Australia.

During the cold war, Martin became an Australian spy. (back cover)
