Lady Margaret Elvire Forrest (nee Hamersley)lived through eighty years of Australian history. She was born during the early pioneering days of the British settlement of Western Australia and died in the year that heralded the great national disaster of the 1930s. She lived through three epochs of social history: Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian.
