Frank Broomhall joined the Rabbit Department in 1926, spending fourteen months on the Rabbit Proof Fence as a boundary rider.
After a lengthy and varied career, Broomhall wrote this history of the first fence that crossed Western Australia north to south. It was published in 1991, and a facsimile copy was published in 2013.
When it was completed in 1907, the first fence was considered the longest unbroken in the world.
