The Lamb Enters the Dreaming traces the life of Nathaniel Pepper, of the Wotjobaluk people, from his early days in the Wimmera to his conversion to Christianity, his family, particularly his brothers Philip and Timothy, his life at Ebenezer Mission, his move to Ramahyuck Mission Station, his friendship with Moravian missionary F A Hagenauer, to his last days and his grave.
