Saint Vincent Pallotti (1795-1850) founded the Union of Catholic Apostolate. The Pallottines, as they were known, came to Australia from Germany in 1901 to pastor Aboriginal people at the Beagle Bay Mission in the Kimberley Region. From there, they spread to other missions in Western Australia and then east.
