In 1872, Ernest Giles (1835-1897) set out to explore Central Australia and was subsequently inspired to cross Australia from east to west. The first volume of this set is his record of this historic expedition. The set volume continues Gile's account of his epic journeys across Australia between 1874 and 1876.
