Lake Grace is located in the eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia and is the major route for those travelling between the Wheatbelt and Albany. It is an agricultural town that was established in 1911 and gazetted in 1916.

This book is divided into thirty chapters covering the early European settlement, the development of town infrastructure, Schooling, community and church, the impact of the depression, the two world wars, and the implementation of the soldier settlement scheme.

A chapter is devoted to the town's sports and includes a list of notable football players.
