Fred's diary covers areas of action in the Mediterranean, the Baltic, Japan and the Pacific and includes much Australian and American involvement. He was involved in both battles of Narvik, the supply of Tobruk, the rescue of the King of Greece and the eventual rescue of 15,000 Australian troops from Tobruk along with the British contingent.
