The Murray Darling Basin stretches across four Australian states and is home to the country's three longest rivers - the Murray, Darling and Murrumbidgee.

This booklet was produced as part of the Women of the River Country exhibition, a national exhibition developed by the staff and volunteers of the Mannum Dock Museum of River History.

The project highlighted the importance of many remarkable women who played a vital role in shaping the river country. Showcased are the stories of 19 women from the mid-1800s to the 21st century. From early European pioneers to an international sporting icon, to a world-class musician, all have been connected to the riverscape.
