Max Piggot was born in Melbourne in 1920. He served in the AIF for six years during WWII. After the war, he played eight games in 1946-47 with South Melbourne (Sydney Swans).
After several years of farming in southern Victoria, Piggott and his family moved to a livestock property near Albany. In was in the 1970s that Max took up journalism, working for the Farm Weekly.
He was killed in an accident in 2010.
