This book traces a century of Catholic education in Victoria Park, Western Australia. The present Catholic school in the area, Ursula Frayne Catholic College, is a unique institution - at once both old and very new. Though founded only in 1990, the College is an amalgamation of Catholic schools in the Victoria Park area that date back to 1899.

This history is, first and foremost, about the children and teachers at these schools. It is also, however, about place, about community needs and about the educational principles that inspired the schools into being and which continue to animate Ursula Frayne Catholic College.
