A biography of pioneer business and newspaper man Joseph Thomas Reilly (1836-1915).
Joseph with his parents and siblings, arrived from Ireland in Fremantle in 1851. In 1855, He married Mary Lucille Burrows, a Western Australian-born dressmaker and schoolmistress.
With merchant G F Stone, Reilly established the Colony's first building society - the Perth Building Society.
Reilly was also the editor of the Western Australian Catholic Record for five years. He and his family later established the Northam Advertiser. He successfully published the newspaper for many years before selling it to Hal Colebatch.
