Born in 1908, Frank Cuttris left his impoverished life in England under the Big Brother Movement.

The Big Brother Movement (BBM) was established in 1925 to sponsor youth migration from Britain to Australia. Between 1925 and 1929 almost 2,000 young males arrived in Australia under the scheme.

Frank's first job was in Victoria but he soon found himself in the WA Wheatbelt.
