The biography of Alfred and Ellen Bussell (nee Heppingstone), pioneers of Margaret River, south-western Australia.

In the 1850s the Bussells built a homestead in Ellensbrook, a traditional Noongar camping area known as Mokidup, becoming the first settlers in the Margaret River area.

Between 1857 and 1865, the Bussells built Wallcliffe House near Prevelly and the mouth of the Margaret River.

This book briefly describes Alfred and Ellen's daughter Grace's role in saving 50 survivors from the wrecked SS Georgette.
