The book aims to preserve knowledge and provide information on ringing archives for tower bells, individual churches, civic and hand bells in Australia and New Zealand, an interest that has grown over two centuries.
When the Bicentennial celebrations encouraged more ringing installations in Australia in 1988, the author wrote We Sing in a Strange Land, since then more changeringing towers have been established in Australia, warranting an update which has been captured in Their Sound Has Gone Forth.
This book coincides with the Centenary of Federation in Australia, during which a program had bells ring across Australia simultaneously on 1 January 2001.
Also includes photographs and information about the bells.
