The biography of Charles Lane Pool, a pioneer of forest conservation in Australia. The book traces his birth in England in 1885 to Ireland, France, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Western Australia, Papua New Guinea to Canberra where he established Australia's national forestry school to his death in Sydney in 1970.
