The history of one of Perth's larger retirement villages in Bentley. Rowethorpe cottages were built in 1961 on the site of the former Collier Pine Plantation on the outskirts of Perth. It was originally a Central Methodist Mission Home, but later it became a Uniting Church Home.
The book is largely a tribute to the Reverend Ralph Sutton and his wife Dorothy, who worked as a dedicated team to develop Rowethorpe. Includes a history of the Rowethorpe development, including Claudia Hicks Lodge, the north and south units, terraces, workshop and hilltop lodge and later developments, including the Charles Jenkins Hospital and various groups.
