Gascoyne Trading Company, established in 1924 by aviators Keith Anderson and Charles Kingsford Smith, had limited success, and in 1926 it was sold to Carnarvon businessman Mick Stroud. The business changed hands again in 1935 when it was purchased by a group of pastoralists.
For decades, Gascoyne Trading Company had the sole rights to road haulage between Carnarvon and Perth. It is one of the oldest established transport operations in Western Australia.
Gascoyne Trading became part of the Wesfarmers Group in the 1950s.
