In the 1939-45 post-war period, many medical practitioners migrated to Australia, some of whom occupied senior positions in the medical profession throughout Australia with great distinction. Their reasons for leaving the UK were many and varied. Amongst the medical migrants to WA were some from the University of Liverpool, and a significant proportion of these were fellow graduates in 1953. They have come together and written a chapter each in a book that provides insight into the delivery of health care services in both countries.
