Max Griffith worked for the Australian Inland Mission from 1964 to 1985, for the last eleven years as its superintendent. He witnessed many changes in remote Australia, including the massive increase in mining activity and the exposure to the shocking conditions under which Aboriginal people were living and dying.
Griffiths was heavily involved in pioneering medical and education services to remote communities.
