The coast watchers were a group of men often working in Japanese-held territory, whose radioed warnings provided critical information to the Australian and American forces. Their reports were crucial to the Allied forces holding Guadalcanal - a significant victory in the Pacific War.
Eric Feldt was the commander in charge of the Coast Watch.
Book cover is taken from a painting "Australians in the New Guinea Jungle" by James Cook.
