Richard Campbell (Dick) McBride (1913-1990) was born into a distinguished pastorlist family in South Australia. He spent his childhood on several of the stations owned at that time by his great-grandfather, J M McBride, and grandfather, J McBride.
His parents moved to Western Australia in 1928. The first few years in Western Australia were spent on a farm and station in the north west, but after service during WWII with the Survey Corps, his work thereafter was as a surveyor and pastoral inspector in the Northern Territory, and finally his own business.
This book covers his life in the outback areas of South Australia, Northern Territory, and the North West of Western Australia.
