In only 10 years, the West Coast Eagles have soared twice to stunning premiership victories in the Australian Football League. They have now become one of the most consistently powerful sporting clubs in the country. This is their story.
It is the story of how a fledgling football club in the VFL came from the brink of disaster in 1989 to become the first non-Victorian club to win a premiership. In 10 seasons, the Eagles have won 2 premierships, won 11 out of 21 final-round games, won 135 out of 218 home-and-away matches, and missed the finals only twice. These outstanding results have been achieved by 103 players, 3 coaches and 4 captains.
