The Shipwrecks of the Roaring 40s project, funded by the Australian Research Council, investigated some of the earliest and most significant shipwrecks in Western Australia, including the four Dutch East Indiamen wrecked in the 17th and 18th centuries - Batavia, Vergulde Draeck, Zuytdorp and Zeewijk.
A wide range of research was conducted, often deploying new scientific and investigative technologies. The story of the project is told in this richly illustrated book for the first time.
