In 1911, the earliest known pioneers were allocated virgin bush lots in the Muntadgin area, Wheatbelt region Western Australia. The township of Muntadgin came into being after the railway line was established in 1925, following the building of a dam to supply water for the steam trains passing through.

The area's pioneers were not just the farmers; many talents rose in these early years, and you made your living “the best you knew how”— clearers, dam sinkers, lumpers, and even homemakers.

Over the years, Muntadgin has become one of the more prosperous regions in the Wheatbelt. Throughout this time, the farmers have always delivered grain to the Muntadgin siding.

Though many of these pioneer families are now no longer with us, we pay homage to them all as we remember the many trials and tribulations they all endured to bring this country to fruition. (back cover)
