The Cottesloe Tennis Club developed in a lively beach-oriented community. Its growth has been inextricably linked with local government - the Cottesloe Road Board, Cottesloe Municipal Council, Town of Cottesloe.
The first Cottelsoe Tennis Club emerged from the enjoyment of social tennis by large groups of people who gathered at some of the mansions and bungalows in Peppermint Grove and Cottelsoe, where owners had established tennis courts in their spacious grounds. In 1903, the Cottesloe Tennis Club built two courts. By 1938, the Club had moved to the corner of Broome and Napier Streets. (Introduction)
