Book Description

Secondhand. Good condition. Ex library copy with no external stickers. Stamp on inside page. Wear to book corners and edges. Small mark on tail right foredge. Dust jacket has creasing at edges and spine. Body text and binding are also very good.

Thelma Atkins was born near Quindanning in 1914, the third daughter of a farmer. The family farm was on the Coolakin Gully. While her father battled for twenty-six years trying to realise his dream of being a gentleman farmer, Thelma was making up her mind that she was a failure as a country girl.

A memoir told with great charm and simplicity. Without bitterness or mawkish sentimentality, Thelma recalls a childhood that has now become part of our history.
