The story of Pauline O’Connor is one of an Irish-Australian girl who defied convention, left home at 15 and travelled the world. Her natural talent for music first brought her to Sydney and then Italy, where she studied under the great Artura Benedetti Michelangeli.
A winner of several piano competitions, Pauline performed both as a soloist and with orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout Italy and other European countries. She returned to her hometown of Perth, Western Australia, in the 1970s, after an astonishing twenty-year-long journey.
