Secondhand. Very good condition. Minor wear to book corners and edges.
In 1996, Helga Leunig moved to a farm in north-east Victoria to raise a family, leaving her career as a professional photographer behind, or so she thought. Here she made a vegetable patch. Made do. Lived with the beauty, simplicity and peace of country life, as well as with drought and bushfire.
From this period of her life came these exquisitely beautiful photographs, capturing family, nature, and community, every image redolent with feeling. These images capture the beauty, peace, simplicity and anxieties of rural life.
These photos were taken over a 20-year period and were acquired by collections around the country, including the National Library of Australia and the National Portrait Gallery.
