Joan Hall was born in London in 1922. Aged 10, she was sent to Fairbridge Farm School in Pinjarra, Western Australia. This book describes the difficulties and determination resulting from the Fairbridge Farm School Scheme. From 1912 to 1982, thousands of British children were given a new life and education.
