Subtitle: being the questionable memoirs of a certain North Queensland high school boy on his 1950's journey through the leafy glades of learning.
When the elderly recluse Ebenezer Gower died, he left his run-down Sherbert Valley farm in North Queensland to the Parish of the Upper Sherbert to establish a small agricultural school for boys.
The most valuable part of his bequest was a parcel of land with coarse gold concentrate. But the Sherbet Valley alluvials had been worked out in the 1890s, and this was reef gold.
A lighthearted tale of a small bush high school in North Queensland during the 1950s. (back cover)
