Kathleen (Kate) O'Connor (1876-1968) is arguably the most important painter to have merged from Western Australia. Daughter of the celebrated C Y O'Connor, she was a woman of strong if enigmatic character. Most of her life was spent in Paris, where she pursued her interest in Impressionism and post-Impressionist decorative art. In independent but complementary studies, P A E Hutchings and Juliet Lewis examine this extraordinary artist's life and work. (book flap)
