In 1974, Jennifer's play No Man's Land, retitled Crossfire, was the joint winner of the Newcastle Playwriting Competition. Premiering at Sydney's Nimrod Theatre, it also had a season at Downstage Theatre, Wellington, New Zealand. In 1979, it was part of the Heartache and Sorrow Company's prize-winning season at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
