Book Description

Secondhand. Good condition. Wear to book corners and edges. Mark on blank preliminiary page. Signed by author.

When Mate Alac, aged 18, left his small village on the Dalmatian coast in 1926 to emigrate to Western Australia, he believed he was coming to a land where an easy fortune could be made. What he found in Australia was vastly different. He worked as a sleeper cutter in the South West and as a miner and copper prospector in the eastern goldfields. He also served in WWII.
