Archie Albert Barwick was 24 years old when he joined the AIF in late August 1914. This book is the personal diary he kept throughout the war, from Cairo to Gallipoli, from Marseilles through the terrible winter of 1916 in the Somme, and from Ypres to Pozieres. Wounded three times, he was sent back to the fighting before returning home in December 1918.
