This book records life and conditions in the outback areas of the Northern Territory as seen through the eyes of a wandering nurse over the years between 1952 and 1963. Ellen Kettle MBE was a nurse and midwife who pioneered mobile health care in remote areas of the NT.
Much of the story is about Indigenous Australians: on cattle stations, settlements and missions and in Arnhem Land bush.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander readers, please note that this book may contain descriptions and/or images of people who have passed away.
