On the banks of the Serpentine River, at the junction of South Western Highway and Wellard Street, stands several colonial buildings. Until the 1980s, many people considered the original buildings were part of history, fading into obscurity. However, in 1980, they were restored to a period between 1869-1920.
This short history is of the family who lived there and of the restoration effected by descendants Frank and Isobel McKay, family and friends, and of the re-opening of Turner Cottage. (Preface)
