This book contains a selection from 5 battered volumes, tracing his story from the eve of his departure to his marriage in 1916 by way of a wonderful variety of experiences in Australia and New Zealand. His occupations included those of sheep and arable farmer, artilleryman, decorator, photographer and newspaperman. He finally settled at Belgrave in the Dandenong Hills near Melbourne.
