Charlie has been a drover, a boxer, a truck driver, and a Legal Aid field officer. He has faced exploitation, abuse and sheer hard luck and overcome them all. But above all, he is a family man. He is father to eight children, three of whom - Greg, Gilbert and Adrian - were AFL players.
