The first truly comprehensive reference manual for identifying the rich and varied bird species across the distinct biomes of Sudan (ranging from hyper-arid deserts to lush equatorial forests). It lists all birds identified in Sudan up to 1 January 1950.
It is written for amateurs and intended for use in the field. It is organised by family groups and includes 12 vibrant, full-colour plates, 12 black-and-white plates, and dozens of text drawings by the renowned wildlife artist David Morrison Reid Henry. It highlights easily observable physical traits and calls to aid practical identification in the field.
Also includes a fold-out map of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan.
