Paul de Lamerie was widely considered England's greatest 18th-century silversmith. This book is an exhibition catalogue and academic study record of the museum-quality private silver collection assembled by Paul and Elissa Cahn.

Written by the decorative arts curator Ellenor Alcorn, the book explores the collaborative nature of de Lamerie's London workshop, highlighting the anonymous, highly skilled subcontracted specialists (chasers, engravers, and mould makers) who actually executed his iconic Rococo masterpieces. A central focus of the catalogue is the "Maynard Master"—an unnamed virtuoso craftsman responsible for the legendary Maynard Dish (1736) and other highly sculptural, fluid Rococo pieces featured in the Cahn collection.

This book accompanied a touring exhibition of 46 pieces organised by the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Tennessee.
