Ethnic diversity is now an established feature of Australian life. Already, the pressures for social change are growing, and as their impact increases, the coming decades will pose a tremendous challenge. In planning the conference, a central aim was to bring together persons concerned with ethnic affairs in different sectors of the community and provide an opportunity for them to share experiences and initiate action.
The conference was attended by almost 100 delegates from across Australia and attracted some of the country's most active and prominent men and women in various fields.
