This book celebrates 130 years of memories and anecdotes of the various periods of settlement of the Ravensthorpe area, from the original grazing, the gold rush, copper mining and intensive farming that followed the land boom of the 1960s.
The history of the original indigenous inhabitants and their relationship with the land has been obscured through disruption and displacement, so this aspect of the history of the area was difficult to explore (page 5)
Southern Scribes is a group of local Ravensthorpe writers.
