Secondhand. Very good condition. Minor wear to book corners and edges.
Autobiography that is both a record of sheep farming and wool marketing in Western Australia, and of time spent in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp.
The statement that Australia rides on the sheep's back is an accepted tenet, and much has been written about the pioneering and farming of the land that nurtures the valuable animals.
Very little has been written about the marketing of the golden fleece, and this book provides a valuable record of this aspect of the industry.
The author worked in that field in Western Australia and abroad for 50 years, interrupted by service in the AIF for 5 years, of which 3.5 years were spent as a POW of the Japanese. This section of the book is an equally valuable historical record.
